Located within the historic University of Cambridge, the Burghley Room has been renovated by ScottWhitbyStudio to meet the needs of contemporary academic life while respecting the college’s architectural heritage. Wicanders’ Cork Pure Signature flooring was selected for its natural character, design versatility and comfort. Its wide range of visuals and patterns enabled the creation of a bespoke floor design tailored to the interior, while cork’s natural acoustic and thermal insulation properties contribute to a more comfortable environment. Combining distinctive design with the performance and environmental benefits of cork, the flooring complements the project’s approach to creating a contemporary space within a historic setting.
